IntaForensics were instructed by Defence Counsel to review and confirm a Computer Forensic Analysis performed by a Police Force and validate the defence
case statement provided by the defendant.
IntaForensics liaised with the Police Force to obtain a copy of the Forensic Image files they had created during their Forensic Analysis. Due to the
nature of the investigation IntaForensics also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Police Force to state that IntaForensics would not create
copies of any material found on the exhibit.
A detailed review was made of the documents produced by the Police Force which identified certain avenues of investigation that the analyst believed
had not been fully covered; this included the Police Forces lack of detailed information about the images as they resided in the deleted areas of the
computer.
The analyst then performed a Full Computer Forensic Analysis on the exhibit under investigation and subsequently identified the images that had been
identified by the Police Force. The analyst also managed to recover the folders and partitions that had once contained these images and was able to
prove that the images had resided on the computer at a time and date when the current suspect was not in possesion of the exhibit.
Due to the due diligence of the analyst, IntaForensics were able to provide reliable evidence that validated the defence case statement.
