Lima – the award winning “Best Buy” digital forensic case management system – is looking forward to further new developments which are starting to come off the development pipeline. Features which are going to be incorporated into Version 1.6 (due for release in February 2014) include some very important new features which will make this leading case management tool even more capable in the fields of eDiscovery and Incident Response, building on the strong capabilities for managing within Digital Forensics. Key new features which are in development at this time include:
The ability to create “Objects” – allowing users to add organisational objects into your case management record rather than just devices and exhibits. This will enable all data secured against a particular custodian or organisational unit to be recorded as such. This change will reflect more accurately the way in which users approach eDiscovery case processing and reporting. It will also allow searches and comparatives across a range of cases for particular persons of interest / custodians.
A new Lima Portal / Enterprise “Whistle-blower” feature, enabling organisations to have an intra-net site where whistle blowing colleagues can make forensic submissions anonymously, with the case being fed in to the normal review and forensic submission process.
Integration with further forensic tools – building on the integration with EnCase and FTK already in the system, we will be enabling more integration with Tableau TD1,2 and 3 models to enable import of evidence acquisition logs directly into your case management records.
These features build on a class leading specification and functionality in version 1.5, which recently introduced full HTML reporting, exhibit auto numbering, enhanced bar-code functionality, task assignment tracking and searching and a range of other options.
