Lima User Group – Law Enforcement

IntaForensics will be holding an inaugural Lima Users Group meeting for law enforcement users of the system on 4th December 2014. The event will be the first formal User Group meeting for our fast growing user base within the law enforcement community. Most of the attendees will be from UK Police forces, but all law enforcement or regulatory agencies who use the system are welcome to send delegates.

“Increasingly, law enforcement agencies needs in the sphere of case management are becoming aligned to the requirements of various standards – for example ISO 17025 and recodng information about the powers under which diferent evidence has been acquired” states James Borkoles, IntaForensics Commercial Director.

“We are committed to ensuring Lima remains the tools of choice amongst law enforcement professionals to manage their cases, their laboratories and their complex and increasing workloads. We continue to work closely with law enforcement professionals from the UK, North America and beyond to ensure that Lima adds value to case and operational management.”

A number of challenges face law enforcement agencies in the UK and internationally within the field of digital forensics, especially in compliance with ISO 17025 and the US based ASCLD accreditation processes. Lima already assists labs who have these accreditations, and the User Group is partially designed to assist those labs that are embarking on their journey towards accreditation to learn from best practice.

The increasingly complex requirements to records and demonstrate the management and due process applied during forensic investigations across the world means that law enforement agencies are faced with burdens that their commercial counter-parts do not have to face in this field.

The experience will allow users to:

1) Gain an insight into how Lima can assist with ISO 17025 compliance in forensic imaging and other processes
2) Gain an opportunity to share best practice
3) Give advice on how operational challenges can be helped by Lima
4) Benefit from the opportunity to discuss any requirements you might have of the system going forward
5) Discuss any technical and infrastructure challenges being faced
6) Examine the development plan for Lima – see what is already planned for the future.
