Lima v2.6 Adds Imaging Import: SPEKTOR and MacQuisition

8 January 2019

Lima v2.6 will be released on 16th January 2019 and encompasses a range of new features including the ability to now import image acquisition log files from Evidence Talks SPEKTOR and BlackBags MacQuisition forensic tools. The Lima development team here at IntaForensics continues to strive to deliver and accommodate feature requests made by the various Lima users around the globe.

With a variety of quality standards now being proactively pursued by laboratories globally, as a BS EN ISO 17025:2005 accredited laboratory, IntaForensics understands all too well the need of capturing accurate imaging data with ease from a range of forensic imaging tools, depending on the type of exhibit.

With V2.6, laboratories who currently use, or desire to use SPEKTOR or MacQuisition forensic imaging tools can now easily import data from their forensic imaging activity at the click of a single button. Once imported, all Lima fields will be pre-populated, removing the possibility for mistakes and the time analysts take to populate the fields manually. Some of these fields include:

  • MD5 hashes
  • SHA1 hashes
  • Verification time and date
  • Image meta data
  • Acquisition start, end and speed
  • Hidden areas

SPEKTOR and MacQuisition are two further tools, in a long list that integrates with Lima to ensure ease of use across the platform and enabling experts more time to do what they do best. Keep an eye out for additional tools in future releases.

Download Lima v2.6 as of 16th January 2019 via your Lima support portal to enable this new feature, along with a range of other new features.
