IntaForensics Extends ISO 17025 Scope of Accreditation Further

Following a successful UKAS surveillance visit in July, where IntaForensics maintained its comprehensive scope of accreditation for ISO/IEC 17025 and the FSR Codes of Practice and Conduct, covering the end-to-end forensic examination processes of both computers and mobile devices, the company has once again hosted the UKAS assessment team for a further extension to scope and we are thrilled to announce that IntaForensics have received a recommendation to extend our accreditation scope covering the capture and preservation of data from Satellite Navigation devices, subject to successful close out of all mandatory findings, which for an extension to scope assessment, were a very low number.

This is another terrific achievement for the team of analysts and quality management team at IntaForensics, who, in addition to their ongoing casework, have produced robust validation data, competency records and documented procedures specifically for SatNav devices.  These continuing efforts ensure that IntaForensics remain the UK’s leading ISO 17025 Accredited Digital Forensic Services provider to both Law Enforcement and Commercial Clients.

“I am delighted that IntaForensics have been able to, in such short succession, extend our scope of accreditation further to cover the capture and preservation of data from Satellite Navigation devices.  This marks the closure of a two-year plan by the company to achieve the now mandatory requirement for Digital Forensic providers, to meet the Forensic Science Regulators Codes of Practice and Conduct and ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation for Testing Laboratories in the United Kingdom.  The extended scope was the final challenge to overcome. It is vital in today’s fast paced digital forensic environment to achieve and maintain a scope of accreditation that not only covers computer and mobile devices seen in our laboratories every day, but also less regularly seen items such as SatNavs.  I am immensely proud of the whole team at IntaForensics and the work and effort that has gone into extending our scope in such a short period of time since our surveillance visit in late July and the hard work and dedication over the last two years to achieve this crowning achievement”.
