CACI‘s Digital Forensic Laboratory, based in Washington DC, has achieved the coveted ASCLD-LAB accreditation. This standard is based on ISO 17025 and represents a recognition that the work of the lab meets the highest standards in the field.
Implementing Lima has helped address the areas of control and management that the CACI team faced when preparing for the accreditation process and securing their accreditation.
Clayton Schilling, CACI’s Forensics Senior Manager, commented on the central importance of Lima to ensuring the methodical, controlled and process driven application of best practice. Managing all aspects of the CACI forensic workflow process from case submissions, evidence management, staff training and competency testing requirements, case notes, expenditure trackingĀ right through to case reporting and disclosure, the Lima solution has replaced numerous individual systems within the lab environment.
Relying on a single system will provide many benefits and advantages in efficiency and ease of use over time.
The IntaForensics team worked closely with the CACI lab team to implement the system and configure it. Additional work is being undertaken to “Americanize” the system – the product has its roots in the UK and there are some minor changes needed to terminology which are being worked through now. IntaForensics work closely with all clients to adapt the system to work in their environments, which makes us great to work with.
