Additionally, Lima gives users the ability to produce traceable and auditable contemporaneous notes, allowing laboratories to demonstrate compliance with Quality Standards set by the International Organization for Standardization.

Forensic Tool Compatibility

Forensic Tool Compatibility

Lima enables the capture of all Forensic process related information within the management system. Lima allows you to upload the output and capture essential information from a variety of different forensic tools including EnCase, FTK, Logicube and XRY.

Advanced Search and Indexing

Advanced Search and Indexing

The integration of the powerful dtSearch engine further enhances all of the searching capabilities of Lima. Dtsearch allows the user to search attachments for key terms, significantly reducing the time taken to recover specific information. The user will also be able to search for attachments within attachments, allowing for greater scope when searching for key data.

Forensic and Case Reporting

Forensic and Case Reporting

Built into Lima is the ability to instantly create a variety of reports for items of evidence, complete cases, or the transfer of evidence. The reports and generated documents are supported through Microsoft Word, XML, TSV, CSV and HTML.

International Standards Compliance

Deploying Lima into your Laboratory would enable you to comply with the requirements of ISO 17025 and forensic best practice. It allows specific assets used against every forensic process to be accurately logged. Should there be any question about tools and assets used in a case, the Lima system automatically enables a full record of all forensic assets used to be generated for each case. Any forensic asset can also be searched and a full list of a cases which they have been used upon generated.

In line with core standards (ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and ASCLD-LAB) Lima enables each element of work conducted within the team using a forensic asset, to have that asset tagged as having used that specific piece of software or hardware asset. This will be recorded within reporting on the case. From an Asset Register point of view, every case on which an asset was used will be recorded as well.

The Lima system also enables regular scheduled maintenance (e.g. PAT (electrical/circuit) testing, calibration testing etc.) for all forensic assets to be planned and recorded along with records of any upgrades, maintenance or remedial actions taken related to the asset. These tests are recorded within the Resources Module of Lima, with records of scheduled and all previous calibration tests recorded at an individual asset level.

Drives Cost Efficiency

Lima captures information through a work-flow process, and transfers relevant data to the next stage of the work-flow process. This ensures that data capture is efficient, with no data having to be manually transferred from other systems into the case management system.

The entire work-flow process is managed through one single integrated system, saving significant administrative time right from the start of the case lifecycle, running through to final management reporting tasks and the end of the case lifecycle.

By Lima managing the forensic process from the point of raising a submission right through the handling of exhibits, chain of custody, forensic analysis, reporting and management of archives, there is limited need to transfer data from one system to another. The security of records, with all aspects of the case management record being logged in the secure Audit Log, and the efficiency of the system are major benefits.

Improved Communication

Keep up to date with the progress of a case, or relay case specific information straight to the investigator via the Lima Submissions Portal. Lima enables a two way communication stream to be present between the case requester and the investigator working on the case. This enables important case information to be made instantly available to the people who need it most.

Flexibility

Given the wide variety of methods and processes in use throughout the world in e-Discovery, we have enabled Lima to be tailored to meet client requirements. Specifically, we have provided a tool (managed through the Lima Administrator) which enables you to create forms at both a Case and at an Evidence level within the system which are universally published. You can populate these forms with controls including combo-boxes, radio buttons, text fields, notes or date fields and others. This enables you to quickly construct forms which you might need to track, search and manage your e-Discovery cases beyond that which is already included within the system.
